20th-century fireplace plaque, a reproduction of a 17th-century plaque bearing the arms of Joseph Fleuriau d'Armenonville, 1661-1728, knight, 5th Marquis of Rambouillet in 1699, Controller General of Finances in 1683, Intendant of the King's Finances from 1690 to 1708, Director General of Finances in 1701, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in 1716, Secretary of State for the Navy (1718-1722), Keeper of the Seals of France (1722-1727), Officer-Commander (Grand Treasurer) of the Order of the Holy Spirit, Knight of the Order of Saint Michael, Grand Cross of Saint Louis in 1719. Married in 1685 to Marie Jeanne Gilbert de Saint Lubin, with whom he had Charles Jean Baptiste Fleuriau de Morville, Count of Morville. 1686-1732, first governor of Chartres, then councilor to the Parliament of Paris and attorney general to the Grand Council, was successively appointed ambassador to Holland in 1718, secretary of state at the Ministry of the Navy upon his father's resignation, Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1723, and Knight of the Golden Fleece in 1724; he had been admitted to the French Academy in 1723. Coat of arms: Azure, a silver sparrowhawk, membered, legged, and barred of the same, perched on a red staff placed fesswise, on a gold chief three acorns stalked and leaved green. Count's coronet. Support: two griffins. Its weight is 79 kg.
