Large Turquin Blue Marble Fireplace From The First Empire Period
Large fireplace in Turquin blue marble, from the First Empire period, in perfect condition, with finely chiseled alabaster inlays, in its center a burning Athenian woman next to a pair of sphinxes facing each other against a background of cypress trees in perspective and at each end a lion with its hindquarters standing on a rock holding a sphere between its paws. The amounts are animated by roughened channels, their sides have been reported. A small usual chip on its shelf has been restored. Its body length is 163 cm.
