"Basque Makhila Ainciart Bergara Silver And Medlar XX"
Basque makhila, or shepherd's staff, from Maison Ainciart Bergara, dating from 1991. Made of medlar wood, adorned with silver, it features annotations with the name and maker. It is traditionally given as a gift during ceremonies and has a horn handle. Note: this makhila has three prongs to better support the user's weight on uneven terrain. It has a new leather wrist strap. The name on the makhila is Gregorio del Campo. Maison Ainciart Bergara has been located in Larressorre in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region since 1780 and is still in operation today.
