Minerva 1st standard hallmark (1838 to 1919).
Maker's mark, partially erased but probably PQ: QUEILLE family - an antique oar.

Minor scratches from use.
Good overall condition.

A large family of 19th-century silversmiths established for nearly a century.
On February 11, 1847, Eugène registered his hallmark, which he had inherited from his grandfather and his father, Pierre François Queillé père (hence the initials PQ), and worked at 8 rue Saint Roch Poissonnière in Paris. In 1874, the workshops moved to 11 rue des Petits-Carreaux, and his son Elvire worked with him, using his hallmark, until 1880.
Following the death of Eugène Queillé, Elvire continued to use the hallmark until 1895. That year, the workshop was partly taken over by the famous goldsmith Antoine Lapparra.
