Regarding its condition, there are some minor soilings in the margin and tiny spots in the sky. The lithograph is very vibrant in color; once framed, most of the imperfections will be invisible. We have taken as many photos as possible of the imperfections so you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing these shows with innovative, colorful sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
