Louis XVI Period Bouillotte Lamp
A gilt bronze bouillotte lamp, composed of two light arms decorated with rocasses and a row of pearls arranged on a fluted column, resting on a base decorated with friezes; the black lacquered sheet metal shade is height-adjustable on its shaft surmounted by a pine cone. 18th century, circa 1780. A pair of bouillotte lamps of the same model were sold at Sotheby's Paris, June 28, 2023, lot 314. Formerly drilled for electricity.
