"Group Of Engravings With Coloring"
A refined triptych of engravings, finished by hand with contemporary watercolour, it represents an excellent testimony to the graphic and decorative production of seventeenth-century Europe. The works illustrate an allegorical cycle dedicated to the natural elements Air, Fire and Water, through a figurative language of late Baroque origin. The composition stands out for a dynamic and complex narrative, where figures in classical clothing and exotic suggestions move within landscapes rich in architectural details and mythological references, such as the majestic celestial chariot of Juno who personifies Air.
Each painting is embellished with a gilded wooden box frame and an external band decorated with faux marble. End of the 17th century.
