Alfred Grévin (1827–1892) was a French caricaturist, illustrator, sculptor, and costume designer, best known for his humorous silhouettes of Parisian women and for co-founding the famous Musée Grévin in Paris with journalist Arthur Meyer in 1881.
Alfred Grévin and Friedrich Beer collaborated several times in the late 19th century, particularly in the field of bronze sculpture. Friedrich Beer, a sculptor of Moravian origin living in Paris, worked with Grévin on humorous and decorative works, often depicting stylized female figures or amusing scenes. These works, signed "A. Grevin and Beer", are characteristic of the decorative and humorous art of the time, blending Grévin's talent as a caricaturist with Beer's sculptural expertise.
