Art Nouveau Bronze Sculpture "swimmer" By Gerg Leisek (born In 1869)
The delicate and detailed figure of a girl in an Art Deco swimsuit was created by the Austrian sculptor Gerg Leisek, born in 1869. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts under Ev Hellmer and C. Zumbusch. His works can be found throughout Austria: sculptures for the Buergertheater (1900), Floridsdorf Town Hall (1902), the University of Vienna (1902), the Kaiser Franz Josef I Monument in Prachatitz (1903), and in Arnau and Ischl (1910).
