"Pair Of Louis XVI Candlesticks."
These large gilt bronze candlesticks date from the Louis XVI period. They rest on a finely chased circular base adorned with a line of pearls bordering a row of inverted water leaves. These motifs are repeated at the base of the fluted stem and beneath the candle holder. The candle cups are original, as is the gilding, which shows occasional signs of wear, creating a beautifully nuanced patina. Late 18th century. Height 29.5 cm.
