1818. History Of The Italian Republics Of The Middle Ages. Complete Edition
The complexity of the history of the Italian republics in the Middle Ages is well known to historians. This sixteen-volume work, published at the beginning of the 19th century, provides a detailed account of the rivalries between the various city-states, the papacy, and external powers. Written by J. J.C. Simonde de Sismondi, a member of several European academies, this is the second French edition, published in Paris in 1818 by Treuttel and Wurzt. This complete set is bound in a charming and original period binding in good original condition (some minor wear, but nothing serious). The edges are stained green, adding a touch of refinement to the whole.
