Object description :

"French School, Early 19th Century : "landscape With Ruins""
Early 19th-century French Neoclassical School : "Lively Landscape with Ruins," oil on canvas, 21 x 27 cm, mounted in a lovely period gilt frame, 26 x 31 cm.
Painted on a very thick ground that has shrunk slightly, causing the craquelure common in paintings of this period.
This charming work depicts a mother and her son resting on a bank in front of ruins, the child stepping aside to relieve himself ! Please feel free to request additional photos or information by email or phone.
