Printed Shawl/fichu (poster) - Alsace For Provence, Circa 1860
Circa 1860, France, Alsace. A large woodblock-printed shawl/fichu on very fine cotton from an Alsatian manufacturer dating from the Napoleon III period. Beautiful picot print with a palm and cashmere boteh design in remarkable polychrome, featuring shades of lilac, which is unusual. Palmette corners on two sides. Excellent condition, no flaws, colors in mint antique condition. Dimensions: 116 cm x 113 cm.
