Uses: Dinner service.
A shimmering 44-piece Lunéville (France) earthenware dinner service by the Keller-Guerin factory. Late 19th or very early 20th century. Round shape with a slightly scalloped rim. Polychrome naturalistic floral decoration known as "Strasbourg flowers," composed of a bouquet of babbling flowers arranged around a rose/peony. The rim is decorated with delicate wildflowers. Off-white background with a purple border on the rim. Signed KG, Lunéville, France (pre-1923). Traces of graying on a few pieces. Very good condition.
The 44-piece dinner service includes:
- 15 dinner plates, 24 cm in diameter.
- 13 soup plates, 24.5 cm in diameter.
- 6 octagonal presentation plates with compartments (20 cm diameter).
- 1 gravy boat (22 x 11 cm) - 1 large tureen and lid (36 x 19 x 18 cm).
- 1 large oval platter (40 x 28 cm) - 1 round shallow dish (30.5 x 6 cm).
- 1 round platter (30.5 cm diameter).
- 1 round platter (30 cm diameter).
- 2 small serving dishes (22 x 11 cm).
- 2 multi-lobed, petal-shaped presentation plates (27 x 14 cm).
We are also including 2 plates with small chips.
