- Hammered, cast and engraved silver
- Paris, 1766-1767
- Master silversmith: Guillaume Pigeron, admitted in 1762, died in 1775
- Diameter: 30.8 cm - Weight: 848g
- Good condition, beautiful patina.

Large round dish with five contours and a molded border of fillets, engraved with an alliance coat of arms surmounted by a marquis's coronet in a cartouche of acanthus leaves on the rim. Alliance coat of arms: on the sinister side, gules, a crowned eagle with outstretched wings, three six-pointed radiate stars on a silver chief; on the dexter side, argent, a green tree flanked at the base by two stars.

- Hallmarks (under the rim): charge: A with a crowned laurel branch, Paris, 1762-1768 [BP n°445]; discharge (on the molding): a blooming rose for large silver works, Paris, 1762-1768 [BP n°447]; warden's mark: crowned C, Paris, from July 12, 1766 to July 14, 1767 [BP n°462]; master goldsmith: G, a pigeon, P with remedy points and a crown for Guillaume Pigeron, Parisian master goldsmith from 1762 to 1775.
- Guillaume Pigeron was a goldsmith with a varied production of high-quality workmanship and particularly meticulous finishing: bowls, dishes, teapots, torsos, ewers, etc. The finest pieces produced are preserved in major collections: a bowl and its tray in the Louvre Museum from the Puiforcat collection (OA9674), a chocolate pot from 1770 in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (Inv. 43485)...
