Paris Porcelain Masquerade Figures, Gallant And Lady, Style Of Vion & Baury, C. 1860
This refined pair of French Paris porcelain figures dates to the mid–late 19th century and depicts a gallant and his lady in 18th-century costume. Conceived as a masquerade courtship scene, the figures are rooted in the Parisian revival tradition associated with the style of Vion & Baury.
Executed in glazed polychrome porcelain, the figures display a luminous finish and carefully preserved decorative detail. Unmarked Paris porcelain figures of this period are well documented, particularly among independent ateliers producing high-quality decorative works.
With harmonious proportions and a strong visual dialogue between the two figures, this masquerade pair represents a confident and collectible example of 19th-century French decorative porcelain.
