"Art Deco Necklace In Cultured Pearls, Silver And Gold, Emerald And Small Diamonds – 1930s"
Art Deco Cultured Pearl, Silver and Gold Necklace with Emerald and Small Diamonds – 1930s. This necklace, dating from the 1930s Art Deco period, features a strand of slightly irregularly shaped cultured pearls with a beautiful antique patina and soft luster, characteristic of pieces made between the two World Wars. The necklace is adorned with a central element serving as both clasp and pendant, decorated with geometric and vegetal motifs typical of Art Deco aesthetics, elegantly structuring the piece. The front of the pendant is made of finely crafted silver and set with small diamonds arranged around a central emerald, held in place by gold prongs. The back plate of the pendant is gold, as are the setting prongs. The clasp is 18k gold (750/1000). The central emerald has a visible crack, observable upon examination, characteristic of antique natural stones. Also noteworthy: a visible melt on part of the pendant. Presence of a maker's mark, now illegible due to wear, preventing certain attribution.
