The medal is engraved "argent" (silver) on the edge and bears the commemorative inscription: 'LOUIS BARTELINO UNITED TO JEANNE GANCEL ON AUGUST 23, 1890 IN PARIS'.
On the obverse, a couple in classical style.

The engraving is in pronounced relief.
On the reverse, the initials of the bride and groom in italic calligraphy, encircled by a garland of flowers (roses and laurels).
