Large and beautiful framed oil on canvas depicting a landscape entitled "Marsh in the Campine." The Campine is a region located partly in Belgium and the Netherlands. This painting was painted by Léo Libert (1908 - ?). A painter and engraver born in Ougrée (Belgium) in 1908, he trained under Jean Donnay (1897-1992) and Paul Alfred Marie Daxhelet (1905-1993), then at the Académie Julian in Paris. Our landscape is signed by the artist in the lower right corner. On the back of the canvas are the following addresses: 101 rue Ferdinand Nicolay in Ougrée and 3 rue des Prémontrés in Liège. It is also dated 1964 and countersigned Léo Libert on the stretcher. Our painting is sold with a very beautiful frame.
