Born in Wamura, Ogata-gun, Nagano Prefecture (present-day Tomi City). He studied at the Kawabata School of Painting. In 1931, he submitted his work to the Japan Art Association and won a bronze medal. He received numerous awards between 1937 and 1966. He was a judge and member of the Nitten (Salon of Fine Arts). Several monumental nude sculptures can be found in his hometown. He had a studio in the Tomi district, which was dispersed in 2024. An illustrated note and a certificate will be given to the buyer.
