Bronze with a golden-brown patina. Numbered 8 - very good condition - Weight 8.7 kg - signed. The aloof, slightly mocking young woman has let her hair fall to the floor. Born into a family of landowners and oil merchants, he received agricultural training. His family being ruined, he had no choice but to abandon his dream of attending art school and becoming an artist. He taught himself to paint. He tried to go to Tokyo five times, but each time his brother brought him back home to help with the household expenses. In 1933, at the age of 35, he was finally able to settle in Tokyo, where his talent was recognized. He became a student of Seibo Kitamura, dedicating himself to creating sculptures. Highly regarded by Master Seibo, he designed his villa in 1934 thanks to his talents in drawing and architectural design. From 1934 onwards, he was regularly featured in the Bunten (Salon) exhibitions and received awards. In 1945, his studio was destroyed during the air raids on Tokyo, and he returned to Nagano.
