Serge Belloni, nicknamed the "painter of Paris," arrived in Paris in 1933 and lived in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. He studied painting at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris. During this period, the artist formed friendships with Lucien Moretti and Gérard Blondel. He was awarded First Prize for Painting in Versailles (1949), the Marie Bashkirtseff Prize (1952), the Silver Medal of the City of Paris, and the Vermeil Medal of the City of Paris (1980). Serge Belloni dedicated himself to skillfully capturing the authentic Paris, braving all seasons to paint on location. He lived solely from his painting and participated throughout his life in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad. His works are held in many private and public collections worldwide.
