Neoclassical Louis XVI Inlaid Chest Of Drawers
Neoclassical Louis XVI chest of drawers, veneered in walnut and fine woods. The front features three drawers inlaid with leaf motifs framed by ebony filleting, and fitted with neoclassical gilded bronze handles and keyholes. The rectangular top, also veneered and framed, is embellished with an inlaid central panel depicting the allegory of Fidelity. The sides feature the same veneer, featuring the profile of an Emperor at the center. The piece rests on truncated pyramid legs, typical of Louis XVI production, which lend elegance, balance, and proportion to the overall effect.
