An 18-karat gold snuffbox.
It is octagonal in shape.
It is entirely enameled on a guilloché background.
It opens on a hinge.
The lid features the words "Souvenir d'Amitié" (Souvenir of Friendship) in gold lettering surrounded by a laurel wreath.
The back is adorned with an antique-style floral vase within gilt scrolls, foliage, and blue pearls.
The frames are surrounded by pale blue fleur-de-lis motifs.
The edges are decorated with a translucent enameled floral pattern.
The body displays four reserves framed by white and gold enamel fillets.
The pilasters are centered with the same neoclassical, Directoire style decoration.
It bears the French Prestige hallmarks of the 18th century, as well as the small lapwing's head and a double control mark with an eagle's head.
