Relic Of Saint Louis - 18th Century
A carved and gilded wooden reliquary, architecturally structured, adorned with two facing lions supporting a shield surmounted by a royal crown. The coat of arms is that of Saint Louis.
The lions depicted here support royal power, both visually and symbolically. In the center, a reliquary containing a relic labeled "King of France – Saint Louis" is surrounded by pearls and metallic threads.
On the back is an episcopal wax seal, sealing and authenticating the reliquary.
Dimensions: 15 cm x 12 cm. A beautiful, original, and harmonious piece.
