"Japanese Kutani Porcelain Lamp With Bronze Mount, Meiji Era (1868-1912)"
A very beautiful Kutani porcelain lamp with a rich, hand-painted polychrome decoration and fixed, openwork rings in relief on either side. It has a patinated bronze mount and base in a Japanese style. The decoration consists of two panels, one depicting a scholar, the other the mythical Japanese phoenix. Raised cabochons punctuate the design. The lampshade is edged with red-orange velvet, harmonizing with the lamp's color, and a gold border. Dimensions: Total height: 57 cm; Base height: 27 cm; Lampshade diameter: 35 cm. From an estate sale, the lamp is in very good condition. Please note that I respond to all inquiries about my items.
