Pair Of Porcelain Vases From The Satsuma Factory In Japan, Meiji Period, 19th Century

A pair of glazed porcelain vases decorated in the style of the Satsuma factory, Meiji period. The figurative scenes alternate between figures in traditional dress and floral arrangements on a speckled background, in a color palette typical of late 19th-century Japanese production. Each vase is mounted as a lamp on a finely openwork bronze base, probably French, made during the same period. The whole has been electrified, with a pleated shade with a gilded edge.
