A beautiful watercolor over pencil sketch depicting a Chouan (a French revolutionary), his child, and his faithful dog walking along a path. 19th century. A typical house of the region can be discerned on the left. Signed lower right. A work of great precision, very finely executed, with highlights of white gouache. Very well framed under glass with a handmade mat. Gilt wood frame with closed corners. Dimensions: 21 x 16 cm (sight size), 35 x 28 cm (framed). Very good condition despite some foxing in the sky.
