Combining the beauty of an Old Regime goldsmith work with the tangible value of a precious metal, this rare object is offered in line with the current value of gold.
Rare octagonal wax case with angular sections, in yellow gold and 18k rose gold (750 ‰), composed of two parts. It is entirely decorated with a fine guilloche strewn with stars, the corners being underlined with finely chiseled cherry laurel friezes. The top takes up the same laurel decor, testifying to a homogeneous execution and high-quality workshop work.
The base is engraved with the number "GD" surmounted by a crown, indicating a personalized order for a member of the French elite at the end of the Ancien Régime.
The whole is preserved in its original galuchat box, with a remarkable freshness of conservation. This box, very rare to find intact, is internally lined with velvet and silk and remains perfectly functional.
