" First Empire Style Mahogany Sideboard, Late 19th Century."
A First Empire style mahogany and mahogany veneer buffet, late 19th century. It is richly decorated with gilt bronze mounts: palmettes, a flaming urn, crowns, and a star. It opens with two doors revealing an interior with a shelf and two drawers. The pilastered side panels are adorned with busts of Athenian women and rest on finely chased gilt bronze feet. The buffet is topped with a 3 cm thick Carrara white marble slab veined with gray. Minor restoration was carried out in our workshop. Finished with French polish. Very good condition.
