Oil on mahogany panel (parqueted on the back) depicting a nude woman lying on a daybed strewn with flowers, in a sunset landscape. Signed in red lower right: JL Viger D. Wooden frame and gilded stucco. Very good condition. Panel dimensions: 70 × 55 cm Jean-Louis Victor Viger du Vigneau, known as Viger, is a history, genre and miniaturist painter. Born in Argentan in 1819, he was a student of Monvoisin, Drolling and Delaroche. He entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1844 and exhibited at the Salon from 1845 to 1879.
