"Lidded Pot In Gilt Bronze Maison Alphonse Giroux 1870"
Gilt bronze lidded pot with naturalistic decoration of dragonflies and frogs. Stamped under the lid: Maison Alphonse Giroux, Paris, a renowned 19th-century house. Engraved inscription: "Régates de Cognac, 1870, 1er Prix des Skifs". The three frogs rest on a round, 19 cm diameter bowl base. Very good condition.
