Louis XV Style Games Table, Late 19th Century
This games table is mounted on four cabriole legs, typical of the Louis XV style, supporting a curved body and a removable top that opens onto a gaming surface. The entire piece is made of oak veneered in amaranth. Asymmetrical floral marquetry, highlighted with boxwood stringing, accentuates the curve of the table's apron. The top is adorned with a central floral marquetry surrounded by acanthus leaves, their tips bound with boxwood stringing. The entire piece rests on four Rococo-style bronze sabots. The corners are embellished with four asymmetrical, floral-style bronze corner mounts. At its center, the apron features a medallion depicting Medusa, and the top is bordered by an egg-and-dart gallery. This piece of furniture has been fully restored in our workshop, adhering to the ethical standards of the profession.
