Daniel Jacques ALLONSIUS (1923-1995) Modernist portrait in ochre and blue watercolor on paper, unsigned but stamped with the studio stamp of DJ ALLONSIUS. Daniel ALLONSIUS was born in Paris in 1923. He was an artist who worked as a painter, sculptor, draftsman, and designer. He studied under Gimont at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1940 to 1943. In 1946, he won the Salon d'Automne prize in Paris as a sculptor for a reclining nude. He taught at the École des Arts Appliqués in Fort-de-France. A specialist in geometry, he wrote a book in 1987 entitled "Creating with a Compass."
