Gilded Bronze And Brown Patina Sculpture - Milo (1893–1970) – 59 Cm
Artist: Milo Sculpteur Suisse
Bronze sculpture with brown patina and gilding depicting a female figure in motion, work of the Swiss sculptor Milo (1893–1970). The flexible pose, the raised arm and the play of the drape recall the plastic research around movement and dance, in a spirit close to the female figures of Agathon Léonard.
As with Agathon Léonard, the slender silhouette and the dress with fluid folds reflect a desire to capture the momentum of the body and an almost choreographic grace, without decorative excess. The gilding of the dress contrasts with the darker patina of the face and limbs, highlighting the modeling and readability of the shapes.
The whole rests on a sober circular base. Decorative bronze of beautiful construction, inscribed in the tradition of figurative sculptures of the twentieth century, appreciated for its elegance and formal balance.
