Three-Panel Screen, Louis XVI Style - 19th Century. This decorative three-panel screen features hinged doors with period hinges and a gilt frame with moldings and raised ornamentation, floral motifs, and garlands, including a raised oval gilt medallion on each panel. The decoration consists of high-quality decorative prints signed by Amedee Lavilette, the artist and designer who conceived the scene, and E. Richet, the printer or engraver who reproduced the work. The scenes depict gallant moments with putti in bucolic landscapes, rendered in an unusual blue-green monochrome. The scenes are framed with neoclassical/rococo ornamentation, in the Louis XVI style, 19th century, Napoleon III period. This is both a functional and decorative piece that will bring an elegant and aristocratic touch to any interior.
