Naïve School. Oil on canvas, "The Visit to the Mill," signed and dated lower left, Maurice Blanchard 48, titled lower center. French School. 22 x 27 cm (43 x 49 cm overall). Maurice Félicien Jules Paul Blanchard (1903-1969) exhibited landscapes and portraits at the Salon des Indépendants from 1926 to 1929. From the 1940s onward, he established his art within the Naïve movement, of which he is one of the finest representatives. This painting depicts the Moulin de la Galette, which, at the end of the 1940s, was still one of the most picturesque spots on the Montmartre hill in Paris. Modern gilt wood and stucco frame. A small restoration in the clouds at the top left, between the mill's sails and a tree. Good overall condition. 980 euros.
