Louis XV Chiffonier, Late 18th Century
An elegant Louis XV chiffonier or small side table, made at the end of the 18th century. This piece features beautiful geometric rosewood marquetry, highlighted by an amaranth veneer structure that accentuates its curved lines. The front opens with three drawers with tails, fitted with finely chased gilt bronze keyhole escutcheons. The veined marble top, in shades of gray and brown, is framed by an openwork gilt brass gallery, adding elegance and refinement to the whole. The cabriole legs, characteristic of the Louis XV style, terminate in gilt bronze sabots. A marquetry stretcher at the bottom harmoniously completes the structure. The top measures 40 cm x 32 cm, and the height is 69 cm. It is in very good condition.
