"Small Marquetry Floating Table. Louis XV Period."
Small flying table that can be used as a writing table for a small note or a ticket. Oak frame; rosewood; rosewood; leather; brass. This small table opening with a partitioned side drawer to receive the necessary writing rests on four curved legs; its top, covered with its morocco framed with marquetry, slightly overhanging, follows the curved movement of the crosspieces. The piece of furniture is veneered with rosewood and rosewood; if the use of rosewood is dominant, the angles of the legs, their interior fields are veneered with rosewood; rectangular frames in rosewood associated with a lighter fillet underlines the different games of the veneer. Very minimal restorations have been made to the marquetry. Quality and elegance characterize this small writing table illustrating the charm of the period. France. Louis XV period. Circa 1750.
