A fine collection of 200 numbered and named minerals from the collection of Christian Sandler, a German geographer and geologist, late 19th century. This is the personal collection of Christian Sandler (1858-1912), a German geographer and geologist living in Munich. The collection comprises 200 mineral specimens, arranged on four trays and housed in their original wooden case. All specimens and minerals are numbered and referenced in a handwritten list compiled by Sandler himself, later transcribed and typed. The specimens come from all over the world and are of excellent quality. A rare collection, perfectly preserved and a testament to the work of a renowned amateur and scientist of the second half of the 19th century. Case dimensions: 35 x 19 x 17 cm.
