Large, richly polychrome and gilded wooden statue of the Angel of the Annunciation. With flowing red and gold drapery and a tender gaze, the angel Gabriel prepares to announce to Mary the news of the conception and birth of Christ. Great attention to detail is evident in the hands, feet, and large outstretched wings. The colors, in excellent condition, have retained their brilliance. The archangel's posture is similar to that of Gabriel in the Annunciation by Eustache Le Sueur, considered the French Raphael. 18th century.
