"Louis XV Queen's Armchair Stamped Avisse"
A Louis XV style armchair in natural wood carved with small flowers. Flat back, cabriole legs. Stamped Jean Avisse. Period piece. Active until the end of the 18th century, he died after 1796. He produced numerous Louis XV and then Louis XVI style chairs in the contemporary style, even drawing inspiration from his competitors, such as Georges Jacob, to maintain his high level of activity. Under Louis XV, Jean Avisse produced some very fine chairs. The seat caning will need replacing, and there is a small hole in the back caning at the bottom right. The woodwork is in good condition. A removable panel has been installed to support the cushion, allowing the chair to be seated. The cushion is in good original condition, but with a tear on the top.
