"Restoration Period Chinese Clock"
A chased and gilded bronze clock (original mercury gilding), the lower section decorated with acanthus leaves, exotic flowers, dragons, and birds; the upper section, above the dial, depicts an oriental hunter seated on a rock. The costume is beautifully detailed, including a bow, quiver, and arrow, with game placed beside it. The gilding is in excellent condition. The movement was replaced in the late 19th century, serviced, and is in working order. A Restoration period clock.
