Directoire Period Clock In Gilt Bronze
A lovely Directoire period gilt bronze clock on a circular base. Four columns support a top adorned with an openwork frieze, a motif repeated around the movement, along with two cherubs on either side. The finial features a decoration of scrolling foliage, cornucopias, and a caduceus. The original wire-driven movement has been serviced, with a restoration on the right, below the cornucopia.
