Saint Clement Earthenware Holy Water Font
Saint-Clément Faience Holy Water Font - Early 19th Century. This font is characteristic of Saint-Clément, featuring a wide bowl attached to the back panel along its entire width, a nipple-shaped bowl, molded at the top and bottom, and a smooth central section without vertical fluting. The titulus is tilted towards Christ's left hand; for Lunéville, it is tilted towards his right. See photos in the reference book. White faience. This font was intended for the poorest families, as polychromy was more expensive. However, its age is the same as for the colored models. In good condition: no chips, no repairs. Note, however, two cracks on the basin. Height 20.5 cm
