Important Set Of Antique Metal Chocolate Molds, Early 20th Century
An important collection of antique metal chocolate molds, dating from the early 20th century, comprising over one hundred pieces corresponding to approximately fifty complete molds (each shape requiring two parts) used for creating three-dimensional chocolate figures.
The collection includes a wide variety of models: animal shapes (fish, shells, stylized animals), hearts, eggs, decorative subjects, and naturalistic forms, demonstrating the artisanal skill of chocolatiers of the time. These molds allowed for the creation of true chocolate sculptures, well before the modern industrialization of confectionery.
Made of metal, they display a beautiful patina of use, consistent with their age and aesthetic appeal. Some pieces are particularly expressive and finely detailed, highlighting the quality of the engraving and the precision of the reliefs. It is rare to find such a substantial and homogeneous collection, preserved together.
A testament to European gastronomic and artisanal heritage, at the crossroads of folk art, utilitarian objects, and sculpture.
