José Martínez Ribes (1912-1995) - Mountain Village

He stands out not only as an accomplished painter but also as a fundamental pillar of local culture after his arrival in Puente Genil, where he was part of the first teaching staff of the newly established Professional Institute. During a decade of prolific activity, Martínez Ribes taught drawing techniques and fostered an avant-garde aesthetic among his students, both at the institute and in his private lessons, leaving an indelible mark through his teaching and his dedication.
