Napoleon III Period Chandelier – Louis XV Style Chandelier – Circa 1880. Important Napoleon III period chandelier, late 19th century, circa 1880. This model features 18 lights arranged on two levels, crafted from chased and gilded bronze, and richly adorned with chains and crystal drops. The gilding shows natural wear. Note: a few drops are missing. All the lights are removable and attach with bayonet fittings around the pierced crown. The chandelier is electrified and functional, but a general check is recommended. A few arms need straightening, nothing serious. A thorough cleaning is recommended. This chandelier was used with candles; the bulbs are located beneath the lower crown, creating a striking decorative effect. Dimensions: height 90 cm, diameter 80 cm.
