Gerrit Bramer Museum Clock, Amsterdam, 17th/18th century, circa 1740. Parlor clock. The case has a typical shape, with a top decorated with pinnacles. Walnut veneer on an oak base. The cover has a leaf-shaped clasp. The sides of the case are beveled. The case flap has a lens. Silvered brass dial. Signed: GERRIT BRAMER. Born in Rokin, Amsterdam, near Vijgendam. 1684–1770. The matte central clock has an additional seconds hand and an alarm dial with a date window, day sector, annular winding holes, and perforated blued steel hands. Eight-day movement with four pilasters and anchor escapement. Dutch chime and alarm on two bells, a pendulum, and two weights. Moon phases, calendar mechanism, seasonal spandrels. Material: walnut.
