Representation Of Antonio Abad Or San Antonio Abad 251-356, Grand Tour Souvenir.
Antonio Abad or Saint Anthony Abad (251-356), also known as Anthony the Great, Anthony of Egypt, Anthony the Hermit, or Anthony of the Desert, was born in Lower Egypt. A hermit and monk, he is considered the father of Christian monasticism. This representation, carved in wood on a stone (porphyry type) and bronze throne in the Egyptian style, is likely a souvenir of the Grand Tour in the 19th century.
